Yes waves make me seasick too! I can’t even watch people rocking in rocking chairs lol

I remember taking tours and we would go on a train to get from one city to another, even one country to another and some people could not face a certain way or else they would get dizzy and some had to put an eye mask on (we knew the itinerary would have train travel) to avoid getting nauseous from being on the train – same for traveling by bus.

I would never make a good sea bird. I’d be barfing all the time!

I’d bee okay stomach wise I think, but my wobbly legs from the movement would do me in for sure!

Dropping Anchor Calls Sea Captain

He’s good at calling the shots from his buoy perch CD. I wish I’d had a close-up of him/her but it kept its back turned (same day as the groundhog turning its back on me).

all our bouys have spikes on top to stop the birds from perching and making a mess

That’s a good idea Wayne – some of those buoys are in pretty bad shape. This was one of the cleaner ones. It’s hard to tell how lopsided this buoy was from the wake from a big boat that passed by.

I love this kind of view too, but give me a chaise lounger and solid ground instead.

Yes, I would prefer solid ground too Dave – a big pleasure boat had just gone by and that buoy was rocking back and forth but the seagull managed to hang on!

Nice shot, Linda. Perhaps the gull is mesmerized.

Thanks Terri. That could be too – it was looking that way for a long time. A big boat had passed by and the wake left that buoy rocking back and forth; I was sure it would fly off, but it stayed put.

Now you make me wonder if they get sea sick! Lol

Ha ha – a huge boat went by and that buoy was rocking back and forth. I was certain that seagull would fly off it, but he stayed. 🙂

I’m sure every gull must know that looking out to the horizon prevents sea sickness. 😉

I hope they do Barbara! A big boat’s wake made that buoy rock back and forth – I was sure the seagull would take off, but it continued to perch there – guess it had its “sea legs” after all. 🙂

When you think of all the time gulls spend sitting on rocking fishing boats waiting to glean a piece of fish — I’m sure they all have their sea legs! 🙂

This is very true!!

That gull has a chill view and a perfect perch!

Yes – very relaxing though a big boat made a wake after it pulled away from the dock and the seagull wasn’t expecting it … the buoy it perched on was rocking back and forth. I figured it would fly away, but it stayed put. 🙂

Too good a spot to fly away over a mere wake!

You have a point there Esther. There are only about three buoys, so I’ll bet the seagulls fight over them! Perching rights!

LOL – clever title. I know I’d feel seasick on one of those!

This buoy was rocking from the wake from a big boat … glad you liked the title Shelley. 🙂

I bet the buoys rock a lot so the birds are used to it.

Yes, that’s true – they get a bird’s eye view there, so that’s probably why they perch there. 🙂

They’re probably fishing for food wherever they can.
On a side note, yesterday we watched The Birds movie. It had been decades since I first saw it as a child. It’s terrifying. Have you seen it?

Yes, a good perch for fishing. I saw “The Birds” many years ago – very scary and realistic considering they had no high-tech or animation special effects back then.

Yes, indeed! I hadn’t watched the whole movie since I first saw parts of it as a young child. I was terrified then and watching all of it didn’t change my mind. I did notice they must’ve had a low budget for costumes. It was easy to notice the one lady who wore the same green outfit the whole movie!

It’s been years since I saw it – I should watch it again. When I was looking for a video clip, for some reason I thought the movie was colorized, but I guess not. Their budget must have been low by the sound of it; today multi-million dollar budgets, like the Barbie movie.

It may have been colorized, I’m not sure. I can’t remember back to when I first saw it. It was too scary to pay attention. 🤷🏻♀️
