Aren’t they sweet TD? I was in the grocery store back in October and I saw the pair in a harvest display so decided to buy them. The pumpkins are what I “served” the squirrels for my post on Monday. They are made of wool. 🙂 Happy Thanksgiving to you as well!

Yes, and the girl has a corduroy cap – I think it is a boy and a girl. They didn’t have any wearing dresses. I thought they were adorable too TD and I picked them up and set them down three times before I finally put them in the cart. I used to decorate the house with harvest decor years ago, nice little touches around the house and have gotten out of it, so I indulged. 🙂

No, I haven’t TD and it’s funny because we always named any of the critters that were part of our holiday decor over the years. This is the first time I have bought any holiday decor in ages. And, if I didn’t mention it ever, I collected teddy bears for years and each had a name. I kind of thought the one on the left with the string tie looked like a girl. So did you have any ideas for names?

This is a great list TD! It’s hard to pick a favorite, but I think I will go with Wishbone and Gobble … I do not want to tempt (their) fate by choosing Wings and Drumstick. 🙂 We had a turkey pardoned by our Governor the other day – she had asked people to send in potential names for the turkey before she pardoned it. The winning entry was Dolly Pardon. Thank you again – so Wishbone and Gobble it is. (Although I remember breaking the wishbone after eating the turkey or duck or chicken.)

Hi Yvette – I used to always decorate for each of the holidays and always had harvest decor out after Labor Day and I haven’t done so in awhile. They caught my eye and I thought they were cute too so I took their photo and added a touch of whimsy to them. 🙂

Glad to give you a smile Susan. I took their photo with the pumpkins I gave to the critters and decided to come up with a fun headline for them. They WERE spared like the turkeys that are pardoned by the Presidents and various governors every Thanksgiving. :●)

My “sunset date” (as he calls it) is loosey goosey … I said 12/31/23 – he asked for 02/28/24 when our lease expires. I’d like something in between or the original date, but I decided not to be ignorant about it. I wanted to have my whole house decluttered and deep cleaned by the first of Spring and that is not going to happen now … I’m not going to miss being outside, so some cleaning will be next Winter I guess, but I had hobbies I wanted to start in 2024 and didn’t want to do that until I cleared out one room for those hobbies.

I’ll keep my fingers crossed that Jan is the month you’ll be free to retire! Plan some time to NOT have a list to do and just be free. I bet that’ll be harder than you think it’d be.

I was all gung ho to whip this house back in order. Sadly I cannot do that in two months’ time and be done on time for Spring gallivanting … I don’t want to continue it into next Winter. I wanted to figure out what to do this Summer about the backyard too. I look forward to having more “me” time and tackling my TBR pile of books I thought I’d finish this year … I did not achieve my goal on Goodreads. I should have set the bar lower.

I bet you’ll get so much done when you’re retired. You deserve all the “me” time you can get. Good thing books stay at the ready to be read mode even if they’re collecting dust. 🤗📚

I have more energy on the weekend to do it as I haven’t dealt with the drudgery of work – that alone puts me into slo-mo. I also think it is a “getting older thing” but when you don’t have the piles and issues staring you in the face, then it’s easier to just get things none timely.

I hope I have lots of energy Shelley. When I spent so many hours out in the garden, (in the backyard mostly), years ago, I felt like that often. There was always something to do back there, endless chores, but I got it done, but then it was suddenly Sunday night and I didn’t feel like I had properly rested and/or enjoyed the weekend. It caused me to resent the garden sometimes even though my mom kept saying to me “stop spending so much time and money out there.” She had a point and then I lost probably 75% of the garden – sigh.
