BADGES

Did you paint these? Or find them on one of your walks?

No, unfortunately I’m not that talented Dawn. I saw them on a walk at Council Point Park in the parking lot. I used to see a lot of painted rocks when the rock-painting craze began and even early in the pandemic.

A smartly painted rock on the right 🙂

Yes Anne – I saved the picture just for the Dog Days of Summer … you had yours a while ago. 🙂 I am always amazed at how creative people can be on a very small rock!

Super cute way to tell a story, Linda! Dog growling at the sun/heat! I fear it’s heating up everywhere. 80s here today but by next week, we’re facing 100s! I will have to rearrange my morning walk.
Happy Independence Day tomorrow.

Glad you liked this Terri. I am always amazed at how much detail these painted rocks are, especially when they are small, like these two. The dreaded heat – we had one bout of extreme heat about two weeks ago. We just finished a five-or-six-day break with some very nice weather, so I made the most of it before we settle back into the heat and humidity – ugh. Same back at you!

Very creative Esther and I’m always amazed how much detail these rock-painting folks can squeeze onto small rocks!

It amazes me too…how do they squeeze in all that detail on a small rock. And where do they come up with these ideas??

During the height of the rock-painting craze, there was a local woman who did amazing details on very small rocks. That woman is a friend of mine’s sister-in-law, so my friend would often post those rocks on her Facebook page. I remember she once did a Cinderella on a rock the size of a 50 cent piece … the detail was just incredible.

The rock on the left looks like it would be too hot to touch! Grrrr to the dog days of summer…

The rock on the left does look like it is on fire and hot to the touch. I agree with you Barbara. This morning it was very humid. Before I got home from walking at the Park, sweat was running into my eyes. I have a sweatband, but I was out early and didn’t really think I needed it! I am ready to jump ahead 40 days to be at August 11th and moving toward Fall!

Funny! Our dogs just go for a swim in the pond when it’s hot. I do too, so for us the worst part of the heat in the electric bill from running the A/C.

The pond is really handy for you and the dogs to cool off. I’ve not received my electric bill for that one-week hot spell we had in June. This was a very cute set of painted rocks at Council Point Park and I decided to save the photo just for those dreaded Dog Days of Summer.

Miss Linda……………………………..dogs are just like people………………………….trying to keep cool but can’t!

Yes, especially in June with that bad hot spell we had for a week!

Very sweet stone art! I am getting a bit tired of this muggy weather but it is that time of year. 😉

I thought so too Tom – I wish I could say I had created it. I feel like I could zoom right into Fall. The picture-perfect, non-windy, non-rainy, non-hot, non-humid days are few and far between.

Huh. Those are two painted stones unlike any I’ve seen. Very unique. Kind of scared of that dog one.

Yes, usually these painted stones are pretty or have quotes on them. I wouldn’t want to run into this dog in a dark alley!

I love the dog rock! So cute. A friend of mine does this, she paints rocks and then she leaves some all over the place for people to find. She does a really good job.

These rocks were very small Susan; it is just amazing to me how they paint all the detail on them. I think that’s nice of your friend. At the height of the rock craze here, I’d see them in all the parks where I walk. I usually leave them there, but take a photo of them, like this one.

These amaze me too! I still can’t paint anything that looks like I intend. Still fun.

They are so intricate sometimes, especially little rocks like this one. A friend’s sister-in-law used to paint onto very small rocks. She would do Cinderella, or a ballerina – the detail was amazing!
