They plop off the log and into the water the same way! 🙂

Ha! Climbing the ladder (or log) to success! Did you get to see these turtles “slide” into the water?
LikeLiked by 1 person
Yes, they aim big Laurie! I did get to see every one of those turtles do the slow slide into the water. I always want to shout to them “no, I’m not going to hurt you – stay put!”

Miss Linda………………….tis the season for sunbathing!!

Yes, that is true Ann Marie, though today they might have needed a sweater over that shell. I am loving these few days of cooler weather; I’m sure you will have a little spring in your step for your walk too.

Me too Sandra – they always look so peaceful sunning there. They all plopped off into the water right after I took this shot.

I often wonder that about a string of birds on a telephone line. Do they line up according to rank, age, maybe alphabetically?

That’s a good question Janis and which of them is the leader, or signal caller, when they all decide to fly away at the same time?

Turtles are so cute. I used to have one as a pet when I was very little.

Yes, they are Susan, especially when they all sun together on a log. I had a turtle too, which lived in a plastic dish with a ramp and a palm tree – Myrtle.

Ha ha that’s exactly what my turtle lived in a little plastic round dish the climb up to a little island with a tree. His name was Rastas. I think we all had the same pet when we were younger.Lol

That’s funny. We had a small pet shop in the neighborhood, so I’m sure all the kids around my age had a pet turtle. I think a lot of them escaped, up the ramp and over the edge of the dish!

Cool title, Linda! I think it’s the vitamin D that they need to get (from the sunlight). We too should be out in the sun more (but not too much). 😊

Thank you Tom. I like seeing them sunning themselves and that sounds like a good reason to get out of the water and sunbathe on a log, to get a little Vitamin D. I have been wearing UPF clothing and hats this year with our horrible heat and humidity to avoid getting burned. I was burned twice in April, on not particularly hot and sunny days.

That sounds like a good way to decide who goes where because on this log which goes upward, the turtle at the top would have the longest way to plop into the water. 🙂

Ha! How do you know how old a turtle is? Do they know‽
LikeLiked by 1 person
Just for a laugh, I would say you count their rings, like a tree. 🙂 But I am sure there are scientific ways to calculate their age. I am thinking about the Galapagos Islands tortoises that are very old and big and I’ve read articles telling they live to be 100 years old or older, so there must be a way. I have seen some photos of some very grizzled-looking tortoises through the years.

My mother used to occasionally say that she was moving “like a herd of turtles”. I guess that would look like what’s in your photo.

I have never heard that expression JP and yes, the only time these guys (and gals) move in the least is when they catch sight of me, then they don’t crawl off the log, but merely roll off and plop overboard. 🙂
