BADGES

They do look terribly disorganized, don’t they?

Yes, it made no sense what they were doing Barbara. This happened just a few minutes after the Heron and Egret collision, so I wondered if that flock of geese saw the commotion and were spooked by it? I could only surmise that. I intended to put these photos in my long Sunday post, but there were already so many photos, I decided to put them here.

Definitely need some leadership but they’ll get where they are going no doubt

Yes – they were kind of a sad-looking flock navigating overhead. I’ve seen disoriented flying before, but not as bad as this!

Interesting formation!

Yes, a bit loosey-goosey!

The birds are in agreement with direction. Are these the Canadian Geese?

Yes, they were geese and were all over the map TD. It was amazing to see their disorganization!

They aren’t in their usual V formation!

I think they hadn’t had their morning coffee yet – they were all over the map!

Definitely a disorganized flight, Linda!

Yes! They were all over the map Terri – they needed to learn how to follow the leader, or the leader wasn’t very together!

Oh, how funny!! They may be flying under the influence.

Ha ha – I wish I had thought of that line Esther. They looked a bit out of it, that’s for sure!

You can use it for next time when you find birds flying in an unorganized pattern! I’m sure you’re bound to find them around.
Wonder what those birds were up to. Ellis and I saw the animation movie “Migration” at the hospital for the umpteenth time. It tells the story of a Mallard family migrating to Jamaica and they haphazardly get stuck in NYC on their way. It’s a funny and adventurous movie.

I’m going to tuck it away in my brain because I do see birds flying in an unorganized pattern – this was really crazy how they were flying! Also I am going to tuck away the name of this movie “Migration” – it looks like they have it on Amazon Prime.

Looks like they need a new platoon leader! 😆

Yes, this flock is seriously messed up! 🙂

it’s early fall, they just need more practice.

Ha ha – yes, maybe it was just a practice run! 🙂

Oddly enough we’ve noticed that the geese that have been flying over us this fall have been perfectly aligned in their V shape. Nary a straggler.

That’s interesting because this flock looked totally out of sync. I marvel when I see a flock in perfect V-formation, especially a large flock.

If that’s a V, they have very sloppy handwriting.

Ha ha – yes Janis, they missed all those classes in cursive that we had when we were in grade school!

Great pics, Linda! 😊
I saw two geese flying above my house today… just two. They were flying together but were a good distance from one another. One kept making squawks as it flew… as if to ensure that the other bird would not lose track of it.

That’s funny Tom. I am in awe of a large flock of geese flying overhead – not these so much with their messy v-formation, but sometimes you see an incredibly large flock in perfect v-formation – just amazing.

Maybe they’re still on the entrance ramp to the sky, where they will get into formation.

You know that just could be JP – a prelude to takeoff like an airplane. They sure were messy up there!

They couldn’t figure out which one was the leader.

I know – they were either newbies or everyone wants to be in charge, but they aren’t qualified.
