BADGES

I like seeing the duckling follow the leader

I do too Brian, they rarely step out of the line, no matter how many there are and the same for in the water, still in the queue.

Adorable!!! I hope they made it safely across. Mama is really sticking her neck out there.

They were so sweet Barbara and they toddled down to the water’s edge and still were in the same line-up in the water. I wondered why she stuck her neck out like that too as she did not appear to be agitated about anything and there were no cars coming.

Today is Walking Day? Than I guess I must get out and take a walk.
Not sure if i shared this with you, Linda, but I had a heart attack in January that has left me walking rather than running. I started cardiac rehab on Monday with the goal of being able to run again. It’s my anxiety reliever. Yesterday, I walked with Bill into town (about 2 miles) and home, then we went to running club and walked some more. It tired me out!
But, if today is Walking Day, I need to take a walk! 🙂

Yes, the first Wednesday of April is National Walking Day, not that I did ANY walking today as we had a stormy day with lots of rain and still have a few more rounds of storms, even severe weather after sundown. I am way behind in my walking goal due to the bad Winter weather, so much rain and day after day of gusty winds (25 – 30 mph gusts are becoming an everyday occurrence anymore here in Michigan).
I am shocked to read about your heart attack Laurie – you, who is so fit from all those years of running! I know that walking to me is like running is to you – relaxing and a great stress reliever, so I’m glad you can ease back into your running regimen again by taking walks. Here I was thinking that the six weeks in Oregon would have been great for you and Bill to run as the weather was so nice compared to Pennsylvania. Of course you likely wouldn’t have had time as you were so busy with the twins. Take good care of yourself Laurie!

Glad you liked Mama and her munchkins Ally. They were cute and trying to stay in a perfect queue. Yes, the first Wednesday of April is National Walking Day, not that I did any walking today because we have had storms and flooding downpours all day and unfortunately we have severe storms coming in after sunset. I am behind in my walking goal due to weather this year.

So beautiful Cross the road in row & follow his mother. You have National walk Day 😌. So pretty & perfect shoot the duck 🦆. I much like Linda!

Glad you liked the photos Raj. The babies always follow their mom in a straight line, even in the water – it is very sweet to see that.

Not good walking weather here. I think our walking day will have to wait. Cute picture.

You’re right Ruth – no chance of getting out today, with all those big thunder boomers and pouring rain. It was sunny here not long ago and I’m happy to see it’s raining again – hopefully that will thwart the severe weather that’s coming after sunset. Hopefully we both stay safe like Sunday night.
They were so cute toddling after Mom and they followed her into the water and paddling along in the same queue.

I like seeing this, it’s so cute Rebecca and then they followed her into the water in the same queue. They did better than me as we had stormy weather all day.

We’ve been under a warning today but nothing so far. The main line hasn’t reached us yet. They are calling for more than 10 inches of rain here for the next few days. I’m hoping that doesn’t materialize.

I just saw a map of the line that the meteorologist I follow just posted. I hope you stay safe Rebecca. A fellow blogger is in Arkansas and it looked bad there. Wow – 10 inches of rain – I hope it doesn’t materialize. We have had one inch and another two may happen, thus our flood advisory and I thought that was bad. Mother Nature is on a tear right now all around the world it seems.

Ann Marie, as tall as I am, those babies must be terrified seeing me, so no wonder they don’t stray from that neat little line-up behind Mama.

Thank you Terri – Mama and her goslings were so cute as they toddled along. Much better at getting a walk in than me for National Walking Day as we’ve had a very storm day and we’re not done yet. I could have tagged this post for this week’s Challenge as they are walking at Lake Erie MetroPark. 🙂

Hazel – well today is National Walking Day so have a “go” at it, although I’m not sure what time it is there now due to the time difference. I’m a walker and couldn’t go as we had stormy weather all day. 🙂

Oh, stay safe, Linda. I love walking, and since we celebrate that activity today, I’ll go for a walk later. It’s now 9:16 am here.

Well, I’m happy you can still enjoy that walk on its designated holiday Hazel! We are 12 hours time difference apart.

Hi Hazel – yes, I do live here in America. I am originally from Canada though and we moved here to the U.S. when I was ten years old.

Yes, isn’t it funny how quickly they have to go to keep up with her? So sweet! I hope you don’t have to wear your running shoes to catch up with Teddy!

Mine too Sandra! These goslings were so cute trailing after their Mama. They followed her down to the water, still in a neat little row behind her. 🙂

All I can think of is the old nursery rhyme, Goosie Goosie gander, where will you wander? Upstairs, downstairs and in my lady’s chamber.
But I’m pretty sure this isn’t a gander. 🙂

You know JP, I have not thought of that old nursery rhyme in forever. I never babysat, nor ever been around kids, so it’s probably 60+ years since I’ve heard it. Papa probably wasn’t too far off and watching his family, even if he was hanging out with the other “guys”.

They sure are adorable Tom and I’m looking forward to the end of this month when the first goslings will make their debut. That is the best part of Spring, seeing all the new life (except the weeds). I hope they live to be elderly as well.

It always makes me nervous to see wildlife cross roads, most people slow down or stop but some people……………:-(
LikeLiked by 1 person
Yes, me too because some people won’t stop or they try and go around them. This was actually inside Lake Erie Metropark and it is a vehicle road, not just a bike path. At Elizabeth Park, they have tons of geese and if you are in a hurry to get somewhere or meet someone there at a designated time, you have to be mindful of the geese. Elizabeth Park is an island and there is one perimeter road there, going one way, so if about 25 geese and their goslings decide to waddle slowly across, stop and turn back the other way, you have no choice but to wait. 🙂 I saw a large group of Canada Geese do that, walk across, then stand in the middle pondering whether to turn back again (which they did).

That’s for sure Barbara. It warms your heart to see the little ones toddling after their Mama. Then they follow her into the water, always in an almost-perfect line behind her.

I love seeing all the cute fuzzy goslings, it’s about that time of the year.

Yes, I’m hoping I’ll still see some at Council Point Park now that the shoreline looks so different than before, although I’d always check to see if I could see a goose sitting on a nest and never did and suddenly a passel of fuzzy babies would appear out of nowhere. Fingers crossed that remains the same as before.
