There is something timeless about a photo of a gull and her buoy. 🙂

Yes, sigh. The gulls are always where the buoys are. 🙂

Thank you Yvette! I wish the gull and buoy were a bit closer, but I knew I could make a fun headline to go along with the image, so I went with it. 🙂

Seven, the perfect number. The gull found a perfect perch. 🙂

I thought it was a funny scene, even if it was not a great close-up. That buoy was rocking back and forth and I wondered if gulls get seasick.

Your reply had me laughing! So I had to ask Dr Google. Yes, birds can exhibit symptoms like head bobbing!! Ha!

Perching on buoy number 7 and the date is May 7. Bound to be lucky! 😀

Yes, double Lucky 7s … need to buy a Lotto ticket and increase the odds. 🙂

Lucky 7 looks like it was made for gulls to make use of! Great shot, Linda! 😊😊
The winds around here are endlessly insane, these days. They are going to leach all of the moisture out of the soil (and the farmers, who don’t believe in global warming, will have puny, terrible crops).

I agree with you Tom – gulls like sitting on those buoys as they sway in the water, a perfect perching place. I spoke to one of the interpretive guards at Lake Erie Metropark last year and he told me the same thing. You would not believe how the marshes around here look. In many cases, there is no water, the marshes are all dirt. This was last year already when he told me this and he said ‘it’s going to get worse.” And it has gotten worse as there were even more dry marshes in the Spring – the waterfowl have to find new places to go. Yes, the farmers will suffer too and if they didn’t believe in global warming before, they will now. More expensive produce for all of us.

I talked to a farmer neighbor today (who cuts my grass with a big riding mower) and he is all despondant about the frequent winds and the lack of rain. He made positive comments about my hybrid car and i think he is realizing that we can all do better concerning the environment.

That’s good that people are finally starting to see what we have known for a few years now … and now they realize there is something to worry about, especially for the farmer as it impacts his livelihood. The wind situation as I understand it is from instability with an unsettled weather pattern over the past few Winters making our winds gustier than ever. Michigan is one of five states with above-average wind gusts. The marshes in the bigger parks have areas where they are all dried up. Today I left the house and the windspeed was about 5 mph. Fifteen miles away at the metropark, the wind began gusting, making it difficult at times to take a picture without a little bit of “shake”.

I wonder if they get sea sick, it would make me sick swaying back and forth on that buoy! You come up with the best titles Linda!

I wonder too Diane – I would think all that wavy water (and this was right by the boat launch area) would make them seasick and they would fall off! Thank you – I am glad you liked the title. 🙂

Wow – that is great (at least I think so as there were some floods in France recently. I thought it was “Paris in Springtime” then home for camping. I hope you get to see the countryside as well, a long and leisurely trip.
