BADGES

She’s beautiful! 💙 I bet she noticed you for some time before you noticed her. Her facial expression looks like she’s curious about you.

I thought she was beautiful too Barbara. She looked at me so intensely too. Then she left, but the odd thing is she didn’t really bolt, but walked through the bushes, onto the road and ambled away. Her legs were so long, maybe because she wasn’t moving very fast – she had long legs like a moose.

Making eye contact with a deer is an intense spiritual experience, at least it has been for me. I love that she had long legs like yours, what a wonderful connection you had! 💙

Yes, it was wonderful Barbara and I remember your deer experience as well. I like that she did not bolt like they usually do, but just stared intently at me, took another bite of leaves, then moved along. Just moments after that encounter, I came upon a seagull and that was close-up as well. I kind of thought it was my day!

Cool! You have a new friend.

Yes! I think I was more mesmerized by her than she was of me as she just walked away. I tried not to take it personally. 🙂

I think she is wondering if you have treats!

I like that JP – I am going to steal it for my next deer encounter! 🙂 (Hope you got through the bad storms. Ours finally just left the area – whew!)

Hello, Miss Doe! I love our local deer! Beautiful capture of her face, Linda.

Thank you Terri! She was a sweetie and was watching me intently, then she just kind of ambled away (as if she was bored). 🙂 (We’ve had bad storms for hours – whew, thank goodness they are over now.)

We have several docile does and yearling meandering around here.

I would love to see that on a regular basis. The day the doe left me with her fawn and took off, I know I floated all the way home.

Did I tell you there were 17 of the mule deer grazing on our property and our neighbors? Brodie runs out and barks at them, safely behind the fence of course, several jumped away but a brave young buck stood his ground. It was a cute interaction.

That sounds really cute Terri – you have to have your phone or camera ready next time and get a video. Brave Brodie defending his turf. (Sorry for the late comment – we had another bad storm tonight. Mother Nature is on a tear it seems!)

Yes, so sweet Wayne as she looked at me through those bushes. I was more mesmerized by her than she was of me as she eventually walked away and broke the spell. 🙂

How sweet! 🙂 She has such an expressive face.

I thought so too Debbie. I think I was more mesmerized of her, than she was of me as she eventually walked away first. 🙂

Thank you Laurie! I think I was more fascinated with her than she was with me as she walked away – I was not going to walk away first. 🙂

Yes, I think she eventually got bored with me and left. I would not have left first believe me! Hope you got through these storms okay Dawn. They finally left our area thankfully.

She’s probably heard about you as the nature photographer from other animals! She is very long-legged and calm looking. Nice shot 👌

Thank you Esther. You’re probably right – she was looking for a pose and appearing in my blog, maybe with a treat or two as well. I think I bored her as she took off down the road. Those long legs just killed me – usually I only see them standing in bushes or running/jumping, so these legs looked extra long to me!

Oh, a few treats would have given you some great shots! It would be a surprise for both parties to see what kind of pictures you would get.
I took a double take with those long legs too!

I wonder if I had grabbed a branch with a lot of leaves near where I was standing if she would have come closer? Next time, if it happens, I’ll try that. Those legs just got me – moose look like that. A fellow blogger goes to a big park and takes a lot of moose shots … big bodies on tall skinny legs. 🙂

Maybe! That may work. You have a way with animals and familiarity with feeding them, so you might have some luck there.
hahaha, a moose with tall skinny legs sounds funny.

I need all the help I can get as my walking regimen and photo expeditions have taken a big nosedive due to this extreme heat, plus the other not-so-great weather days.

You don’t have to worry!! You must have so much photos from other walking treks you did. Hoping that the weather cooperates and you can go on more pleasant walks.

Believe it or not I still have some pics from walks taken last year, but I also have some from early Spring of several venues that I have not used and have to use a few of them in order to make them make sense. I keep all my excursions in a grid, along with a rough draft, but after Terri asked me to participate in the weekly Challenge, I’ve had to alter my way of doing things … so it’s gotten a bit confusing … glad I have the grid. But I have 104 posts I do a year and I’ve been trying to kind of peel off some pictures from walks so I can keep doing the Wordless Wednesday as I don’t want to break my five-year streak of WWs.

Miss Linda…………………………………….that is awesome to be able to come across………………………..You hang around the right places!

Thank you Ann Marie – yes I was lucky to be in the right place, at the right time, for this deer and she was not anxious to leave, or bolt, like deer usually do. I guess there were some tasty leaves right there, so why not stay and eat and look at the lady taking her photo? 🙂

Amazing! They sure don’t stick around where i live… too many insane, trigger-happy hunters. How anyone can shoot one of these with things other than cameras is mind-boggling.

I was mesmerized by her Tom! She just appeared out of nowhere and we looked at each other and she was munching leaves. Then she just kind of ambled away, not in a hurry. I must have bored her! 🙂 I don’t understand it at all Tom. Deer seem like such docile animals and I follow a group of amateur photographers who take photos at all the 13 Michigan Metroparks and I really enjoy the Spring photos of all the baby birds they post, but mostly the fawns. I agree with you 100%

You were in the right place at the right time Linda! Why does the neck look so long, I never noticed that before.
LikeLiked by 1 person
Yes I was lucky to be there at the right place and time. I didn’t notice the neck so much as the long legs as it walked away – I’m guessing that is because usually when I see them, they are running to get away from people. 🙂

Yes, kind of ambling down the road like you and I do Sandra. At least she didn’t bolt from me, so she thought I had a friendly face (and no I didn’t give her treats). 🙂
