Another mist opportunity.

“Oh bother” as Winnie the Pooh would say … though I hate to blather once again about the weather, it was another missed opportunity to go for a walk. Way too many years of trudging to school in the rain and then waiting on the bus during my years of going to WSU and working downtown really do not endear me to a rainy day. When it is an optional trip I’ll usually bow out. I sure am glad I was able to get alot of walking done earlier in this month, since I count on the weekends to bulk up the miles ‘til after the time change. Those pretty leaves that have been fluttering around the past few weeks are now glommed onto the sidewalk, along with their stems, and so you have to be extra careful not to go slip-slidin’ away and wipe out. It is a morning to stay inside, snuggled close to your significant other and celebrate this soggy Saturday and Hallmark holiday with him or her. This is my first blog and I enjoy writing each post immensely. I started a walking regimen in 2011 and in 2013 I decided to create a blog as a means of memorializing the people, places and things seen on my daily walks. I have always enjoyed people watching, so my blog is peppered with folks I meet or reflections of characters I have known through the years. I retired in March 2024 after a career in the legal field. I was a legal secretary for almost 45 years, primarily working in downtown Detroit, then working from my home. I graduated from Wayne State University with a degree in Mass Communications (print journalism) in 1978, though I’ve never worked in that field. I would like to think this blog is the writer in me finally emerging!! Walking and writing have met, shaken hands and the creative juices are flowing in Walkin’, Writin’, Wit & Whimsy.
