BADGES
Good one! The snow may not be fun, but it is beautiful. Ours was gone by nightfall.

Thanks Anne – we did not get as much as expected, but what we got was wet, heavy and some ice underneath. It is pretty when it first falls. We will warm up to the 40s by week’s end, so hoping I can walk to the Park Friday – Sunday.

So pretty, I love it when it looks like this. 🙂

Yes, it looks so dainty and delicate – but the streets and sidewalks are icy … there was a touch of freezing drizzle in the mix later after this fell. I remember you had a blog post last year that showed a fresh snowfall near the River and through a park and you said by the time you were ready to leave it had begun to melt. That is the nicest snow with the big snowflakes drifting lazily down.

No snow here yet but not complaining!

I wish our snow had skipped us … it had a layer of ice and they didn’t plow (that I can tell) and the roads are icy and full of ruts, same with the sidewalks. I hope when it gets to the 40s Friday and Saturday, it will help melt it away. Fingers crossed — my driveway and sidewalks are melted but I shoveled early in the day.

With my impending move, I’m not into snow this year but I’m sure it will come anyway.

Wow! That’s a lot of snow! Is this today?

Yes, this snowfall we had Monday into Tuesday and then some Tuesday during the daylight hours … thankfully it was downgraded from the original 4-8 inches and we got just 3 1/2 inches of snow, but it had some freezing rain mixed in which is not good. I got my sidewalks/driveway clear but looking down the street, the sidewalks and road were not clear this morning.

Wow, you got more snow than we did…..so pretty to look at, so bad for walking in!

I know Joni – unless the sun melts the road and sidewalks, I won’t venture out til Saturday when it’s warmer, maybe mid-day. It looked bad on the road/walks this morning. But it is pretty.

Miss Linda……………………………It doesn’t matter to Mr. Squirrel how much snow we got nor how pretty everything looks…………………….he is happy to eat the peanuts that kind-hearted people like yourself will feed him…………………………………he’s part of the beauty of nature!

He’s got that fur coat Ann Marie … I hope they kept a few peanuts handy to tide them over til I get back. I told them Sunday to take some home with them. 🙂 The streets are bad in the neighborhood and the sidewalks – I don’t think they salted or plowed … maybe just the main streets?

WOW – we didn’t get any of that snow. It is very pretty and looks like the squirrel adapted quickly?!

That odd – you usually beat us Shelley. We had 40s today so it is melting fast so happy for that and I can walk again tomorrow. It was icy on the sidewalks and streets so I was reluctant to go today. Yes, those squirrels are adaptable, especially if looking for peanuts. 🙂

I know, we’re usually more snowy here. So far, the ground is just brown, no snow in the forecast either.
The rabbits have been doing their dances in our backyard. We have 3 so far.

We’ve lost our snow – yay! Did a lot of walking this weekend due to the snow melting. There will be more rabbits ready for your camera!

YAY – in Southern WI it snowed yesterday. So far, we don’t have any predicted until next weekend. I do hope for a white Christmas. Yes, there are plenty of rabbits enjoying the greener grass of a snow-less winter.

We’ve been lucky so far – one snowstorm but it melted within 4 or so days. My kind of Winter. They say some snow mid-week, nothing like the northeast!

Same here – we’ve had just a dusting since the October storm. We may have an inch or so 12/23, other than that, it’s a brown Christmas here. I don’t know if I’d be happy shoveling what they got in the northeast! We’re still walking outside occasionally – glad you’re able to too!

That’s great news! We had freezing fog and drizzle today so no walk for me … I’m glad I made my goal already because we are supposed to have rain and/or snow for Christmas Eve and Christmas. Glad to hear you’re still walking. I walked yesterday after two days off as we had snow/ice but walking was slick and not so great so I walked in the street and it was bad at the Park. Hurry Spring!

Awww…poor little squirrel out in the snow. It all stayed west of us. Whew!

I am glad we did not get the original forecast of 4-8 inches and got this instead, but I am sure we’ll get our whopper storms sooner or later. I’d like to zip through the Winter season entirely!

Thank you Martha – we had big bursts of snow all day long … it would snow then stop. I like it when it is fresh and pristine looking.

How lovely that you get that beautiful. It doesn’t snow here. But your pictures are a gift to my eyes.

Martha – I will tell you that the snow when it first falls is very beautiful – these snowflakes fell fast and furiously and I looked out halfway through the storm and saw this. We only got 3 1/2 inches of snow, though it looks like more. Unbelievably, we had mild temps and it is almost melted! We have a warm-up the end of this week. It was cold today. I walked five miles in three different parks to enjoy getting out before the ice and snow messes up my walking regimen. I take no chances on landing on la grupa! 🙂

Oh, beautiful! We’re just back from the park (I mean hanging with squirrels) and it is so warm in Berlin that some plants are budding (or is it leaving out?), one bush was full of white flowers. Maybe I should’ve taken a photo??

We had that last Sunday – people were running at the park in shorts and t-shirts – it was great!. Today was very cold … I was at three parks, two near the river and still have not warmed up. I should have worn a heavier coat. You should take a picture – the weather’s weird, like the year. My neighbor has a magnolia bush – it bloomed three times this year – crazy!

But it was beautiful and I am so glad it didn’t last.

Yes, I figured it may not and just mentioned that to you in another comment. All the rain and warmer weather melted our snow too.

Soon, they will lose their slim and trim shapes and start fattening up for Winter like this squirrel. 🙂
