… for some reason that post did not show up in Reader. Sigh. I contacted the WP Happiness Engineers and Janrick followed me to see if my Wordless Wednesday post went to Reader today or if we had a technical problem. It did. So this is my previous post – only my subscribers received it. – Linda

BADGES

I got it and I suspect it was in my reader although I get backup emails because I don’t quite trust reader.

I don’t know what happened Kate. I had to poll bloggers to see if they got it in Reader. I could have looked in my Subscriber list, but some, like you, might use both. Some people I follow, I get their posts in Reader, Notifications area and by e-mail … I tried to adjust that and it stays the same. So, I held my breath for today’s WW post.

I’m glad you got a good resolution to your problem. I wonder if all my posts make it into emails or into Reader, but I’ve never contacted the HEs. I’m so jaded about WP at this point that I figure what’d be the point? 🤨

Yes, I think it was a one-time glitch Ally. The HE didn’t indicate there was any “fixes” done at WP for my blog. I have followed myself in Reader and by subscription as well. I have a few friends who prefer not to subscribe, so I forward them my e-mail or the link I follow myself in Reader as this is not the first time it happened. I get frustrated as well and this morning I aimed to try and catch up in Reader as I was three days behind. As I scrolled through to find where I left off, I saw big white areas – no posts, just white areas. When I began working my way back, the white areas were gone, so I don’t think I missed anything, but at least am caught up to this morning.

I find Reader dodgy at times, too. I use Feedly, a RSS reader, that does better, but isn’t perfect either. Staying in touch with other bloggers is getting trickier every month. So many platforms now, so many different expectations.

Yes, I think I’ll have to convert over to all subscription and divert them to a special folder in my e-mail as I use my general e-mail address … I was behind in Reader three days, so that required scrolling forever to find where I left off – at least with subscriptions you delete after you’ve read the post and thus always know where to pick it up again.

I like subscribing because it holds the posts I’m behind on in my email where I see them. InoReader is a nice thing and WP reader is working well lately, as far as I can tell, but subscribing is the best way for me anyway.

I think I will have to take the time and go that route Zazzy. For some people I’ve subscribed to, even a while ago, their posts come in the Notifications area, e-mail and in WP Reader. When I tried to just have them go to Reader, I wasn’t successful. That is better because I am sure there are people that post and I don’t see them. And, in some cases, I got unsubscribed to posts when I did not unsubscribe.

Thanks for letting me know today and the other day as well TD. I don’t know what happened because when I saw the Wordless Wednesday worked, I went ahead an reblogged Monday’s post. Then I went to catch up in Reader (three days behind) and my previous post from Sunday was there. Go figure!

I got it ! Sometimes WP can be frustrating !

Thank you Susan. It is frustrating with WP sometimes and I am thinking I should switch to subscriptions instead of using Reader – maybe some fellow blogger’s posts don’t show up in Reader sometimes.
