Glad you liked the post Raj – the last frog looks very blissful, doesn’t he?

I like the first frog best 🐸😀

Me too Brian. He reminds me of the statue “The Thinker” – deep thoughts. 🙂

Makes me think of a whimsical Beatrix Potter garden. I like the different moods the frogs illustrate. 🐸

You’re right – I never thought of that Barbara. There is a homeowner who has a corner lot and they have ground ivy instead of grass and in the ivy are lots of ceramic frogs. It’s very whimsical. In the Spring they have tulips and I’ve taken pictures of them, all light pink. I usually walk by there in April – maybe they’ll be blooming earlier this year.

My late mother-in-law would love the frog statues. She loved all things frog and had a huge frog collection.

I know two homeowners who love frogs – one I took pictures of their Spring tulips and they have lots of ceramic frogs embedded in the tulips. They have a corner house and no grass, just ground ivy and they have these frogs and gazing balls, different wooden and metal yard art … it’s interesting to see. Another homeowner has their entire garden with frog statues. That woman lost her husband about two years ago, so she doesn’t garden anymore, so doesn’t put out her frogs – it was very whimsical.

I like the bluebird best but I don’t think any of them are creepy!

I liked that bluebird too Zazzy – it was sitting on a table on the porch. I was surprised no one tried to take it. The frogs are huge, around the size of “our” turtle.

If I ever saw a frog in that first pose I’d go running the other direction for fear he might speak. Also, those eyes are a whole lot bigger than reality. As you say, creepy not cute.

That first one reminds me of “The Thinker” statue – he looks like he is contemplating what to do next and their eyes kind of follow you as you walk by. 🙂

“The Thinker” – I see it!

Yes, especially the frogs as they were pretty big!

What a great theme for WW, Linda! If only they could talk! 🤣

Thank you Terri! They see everything! I was walking to the dentist last year and there were workmen digging a huge hole in the City sidewalk, so I had to cut through part of an alley to get back onto that sidewalk. The two-story house next to the alley had some type of surveillance camera that I didn’t see until it blared “I see you and if you do anything wrong, it is captured on this camera.” Now that was very creepy and I jumped a mile when the voice came on! 🙂

What is it about frog statuary in gardens? I see them around, they’re cute, but I also don’t get the *why* of it.

I’ve noticed more frog statuary than usual the last few years too Ally and not just cement statuary but also metal yard art as well.

The great thing about Stone Frogs is
that
they
never
croak.

Yes, he was either thinking deep thoughts or dreaming of that next big fly he was going to catch!

You found some fun ones indeed. Am I the only one contemplating what witty titles you’d give each of them? 😉 The last one made me giggle and reminded me of Jabba The Hutt in Star Wars.

I actually had a few more which I left out believe it or not. It was getting kind of long. 🙂 I have never seen Star Wars so had to Google Jabba The Hutt and yes, that last frog does look like him! I didn’t give them titles but maybe I’ll do a walk around this Summer and get some more and do that.

Cute statues, I particularly like the last frog, covering his mouth like that. He must be keeping a secret!

That is a cute frog Susan. In fact there are lot of “garden frogs” around the ‘hood. I see more cement frogs than real ones!

Wow, but are there ever a lot of stone frogs in your neighborhood! They look like a good way for someone to stub their toad. 🙂

Yes, there are and great quip JP! 🙂 It seems every time I walk through the neighborhood, a lot of eyes are following me as I walk past them. Perhaps they are watch frogs?
