(WP is acting up tonight and rejecting my comments … so I’ll try again.)
I like that photo too Brian – I was torn between that one and the one I used, though I didn’t like the wind turbines in the photo.

One of the songs that made me fall in love with George Harrison! I listen to it every spring equinox. ☀️ It makes me so happy! Happy Spring, Linda!

I love this song too Barbara – a happy song for me. When I put this post together, I knew I had to include it. George Harrison always wrote songs that stirred the heart – I think this was his best one. A life cut short too soon – who knows what other gems he might have turned out? I went to the link to your post and couldn’t comment, so I will tell you that great minds think alike. The best lines you took from the song and I like the little girl’s picture. Spring has not sprung here – it is cold, blustery and we had a little snow this morning.

I remember driving home from a visit to family soon after George died. The radio was playing his songs all the way from Virginia to Connecticut — I’ll never forget that bittersweet ride.

That made his passing all the more poignant didn’t it Barbara? I was too young to remember when Elvis burst onto the scene in the 1950s, but I remember some of his songs from the late 60s which I did like. When he died, (08/16/77), I was on school Summer break so I was working at the diner. Most of the help, as well as most of the customers, were from the Deep South – customers had moved up north to work at the automobile plants. My boss found a radio station that played non-stop Elvis music and we listened to that until he was buried. I never knew Elvis had so many songs.

I know Wayne – the sun gives us a totally different outlook on life. This song just solidifies how everyone feels about the sun – something everyone can agree on.

YAY, you found some sunrise photos! I love the one right after the video, it almost looks like legs posing under the bridge for The Beatles…or curtains pulled back to show the water behind it. The reflections are awesome. Happy 1st day of Spring!!!

I did find some sunrise pics Shelley, including the one taken in the ‘hood which I wavered on whether to use it or not due to the wires, but the ball of fire sun made me include it. I like that picture under the bridge too – it looks like the wooden support legs are bent from the water. The only thing better than sunrise is the reflections which are always a treat. Back at you re: Happy Spring. We added a little snow to the gray skies and blustery winds this morning to welcome Spring.

Yes, well done! I agree, reflections are always a treat.
March is going out like a lion here too!

That was a lucky shot with the “wiggly legs” – our snow is still on schedule for tomorrow, two rounds of it – one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Sigh.

Yes, a lucky shot indeed! We were blessed with a few inches of snow overnight. 😣🙄🤨

That’s not promising, on the third day of Spring! We have a one-two punch … the first one early a.m. caused lots of accidents, but the snow here in my City melted later, but we have more snow coming this evening/overnight – just looked and the real feel of 19 and it is snowing.
LikeLiked by 1 person
No, it isn’t. I’m sorry to hear about the accidents.
Our morning temp today is 11 🥶🧊 Rain and snow on it’s way for Sunday into Monday. Oy… YUCK! But, it is pretty to look at instead of the dull browns and it’ll help green things up, I hope.

I forgot how many hundred accidents now – I did hear it at some time. That’s very cold – worse than we were. Lucky no snow for us and they’re saying we might have turned a corner as it warms up next week, but off-and-on rain.
LikeLiked by 1 person
So sad about that many accidents. The weather is warmer, but we’re in the midst of the 24 hour snow storm. We’ll see how much we get and how long it lasts. ⛄🐇

That’s terrible having that much snow after Spring arrives – especially after such a mild Winter!

Yes, and it’s wet. We got about 6 inches of snow and now it’ll rain all day. 🙄

I kept hearing about Eagle River getting blasted with snow on the early news. Then they focused on our quick turnaround from cold weather to possible severe weather (tornado and flash flooding) and high winds tomorrow afternoon/early evening. Another thing to worry about. At least the all-day rain will get rid of your snow (if you look on the bright side of things.) 🙂

We’re having the heavy/steady rain, that started last night and it’s still raining. Will turn to snow later then back to rain and winds. Ugh.
You’re right, it’s getting rid of the snow and the moisture is soaking into the grass. Hopefully that will help Spring greens pop after we get through the next round of frost!

We got that heavy rain going on now – winds are still raging at 35+ and supposed to go to 40 and still strong tomorrow morning, which may mess up a walk. You need the moisture … but still. Hope the flowers don’t pop til after the frost. I need to go for a walk around to look for some Spring flowers for Terri’s Spring Flower Challenge.

Yay, for sunrises, Linda! I’ll add this to my Sunday Stills round up 😄🌄

Yes, yay for sunrises Terri, especially when we are both early risers. They don’t quite qualify as fiery sunrise photos … I will have to work on that! Thanks for adding this post to your Sunday Stills round up; I appreciate that.

I’m more of a sunset kind of gal. They’re pretty photos however and I’m glad someone else is awake to take them.

Glad you liked the just-after-sunrise photos Zazzy. I usually scurry into the house after walking or errands and don’t go back outside again. Sunrise and sunset photos in the ‘hood aren’t too great as you see in the one photo – those pesky wires get in the way.

Happy Spring! Yesterday I learned that not everyone was of the same mind about which day is the first day of spring. Like you can’t have 2?

Back at you Ally! I thought I memorized those equinox arrivals when I was a little nipper. Right now we are more wintry than spring-y as we had snow this morning and we’re getting 1-3 inches of snow Thursday into Friday, so I’d be happy for 1 spring right now.

Thanks for sharing the Beatles song. I love that one. Unfortunately, the first day of spring here in PA is cool, cloudy, and windy. Better forecast for next week!
LikeLiked by 1 person
It is one of my favorite Beatles songs too Laurie. Well, as to warmth and sun, we are not faring much better than PA. A little snow this morning caused lots of accidents and 1-3 inches of snow will be coming on Friday. Doesn’t bode well for Spring flowers!

The last picture of the sun’s reflection on the water is great! Happy Spring to you too.
More hours of sunshine is doing wonders for us. I am not a fan of dreary and cold winter days.

Thank you Esther – I should have used that for my header image. I was torn which one to use. One day I hope to get a fiery-ball-in-the-sky-sunrise or sunset (along with my assignment of a rainbow from you). 🙂 In the meantime, these were lucky shots for me. I will be glad when our warm weather is here for good – we get these spurts in this El Nino Winter – Friday an inch or so of snow. Ugh!

You remembered the rainbow!! I’m so sure you’re going to get a fantastic one. It’ll come.
I love it when those lucky shots happen and even luckier when you look back at the photos and find something new!
What, you’re getting snow again? Michigan weather is volatile. California is fickle too. Warm for the past few days but we’ll get rain this weekend. Odd weather patterns.

Esther – yep, I’m going to try hard to get a rainbow shot just for you. 🙂 Maybe I need to start a “general photo bucket list” like my “birdie bucket list” for photos I want to try to get – I’d like a sunset over the water. Yes, I love the lucky shots too. I hate when I don’t have the camera with me because it was really gray out and so I didn’t take it. Then I see something, so the next day I’ll tuck it in my pocket and won’t see anything for the next 10 outings at Council Point Park. This morning I didn’t take the camera and a goose came charging at me, hissing at me. Would have made a great photo. I actually left the pathway as it was acting erratically and running after me. They usually just hiss and go on their way. It ate all the peanuts I put out and I usually will stand there where I put the peanuts to force it to go away, but it was on a rampage for some reason. We are still on target for snow Friday – twice (early morning and then evening). You’ve had so much rain the last year or so. We didn’t get enough snow so we are considered mild drought right now.

Although you would’ve gotten some good shots with the goose, I’m glad you didn’t for your safety. A charging goose sounds dangerous and they are strong birds. Better to be safe and keep your balance!
Amazing…spring weather then snow. It’s warm for us but rain in the forecast for this weekend. Stay well and enjoy the last bit of snow. I hope it’s the last bit and you don’t see it until way later in the year.

That goose had a bee in its bonnet for some reason Esther. It is not that cantankerous on an everyday basis. So I headed back to the car to avoid a confrontation. I got some photos of it the other day sitting with its mate (or a buddy) on the cement ledge. I took the photo of them head on, then from the side and you could see the damaged wing. It might be a large flight feather and it will grow back when it moults. It looks painful. They got four or five inches of snow in the more northern cities – we had an inch this morning, but will get “round two” this evening. Mother Nature has it all wrong!
LikeLiked by 1 person
Ouch, a damaged wing must be detrimental for a big bird like a goose! Maybe that’s why it was so upset.
I’m responding to your comment a few days late, and you must’ve had your snow already. I hope the snow is behind you and you can fully enjoy spring weather and the wonderful blooms. Girl, you need a break from the cantankerous weather!!

I didn’t see it on Sunday or yesterday Esther, but has been hanging around for quite a while. I know it couldn’t fly, so maybe it swam away. I am worried a little about it, so steer clear of it. The snow is behind us, but we have quite a thunderstorm and pounding rain right now. Plus the wind is gusting 35+ mph. So, my radar goes up as to that tree. The weather is over the top these days. We’ve already had two tornadoes in Michigan this year, both before Spring.

Thank you Rebecca – I hope one day I will get the fiery ball of fire shot(s) for sunrise or sunset – these were lucky shots as I got to the Detroit River early enough to catch a sunrise.

It’s cold but the Robins and bugs are about! Warm weather will come back again soon! 😊 Great pics, Linda! 😊

Thank you Tom! I don’t think our Robins left this year – maybe they read it was an El Niño Winter so they hung around. I saw my first leucistic Robin the other day; just partially leucistic, but still saw one. They are not as rare as a pure white Robin. I’ve not seen bugs yet, but I heard because of the warmer Winter, a lot of bugs never froze to death and will be back earlier. And it’s a big Cicada year. The preview of coming attractions doesn’t excite me much.
