Your photos were a delight on a dark, rainy morning.

I’m glad you liked these colors to remind you that sunny and warm days are not far off … we are having freezing rain right now. Ugh!

We have had dreary rain all day long. I looked out every once in a while, but it was not as lovely as watching snow fall.

Rain is so dreary – we had that bout of freezing rain and no snow yet, likely overnight. Our snow event on Saturday was to be minor accumulation – they now have said it will be much more snow than originally predicted. Ready for Spring!

I’ll bet nobody has a longer honey-do list that a bee. 🙂

I have to agree with you on that JP – that bee must always bee tired from that extensive honey-do list!

Much needed color on this snowy day!

I agree Kate – this weather is winning no prizes and I think Woody the Woodchuck had better run for the hills! We have not morphed into snow yet; we’re still at the freezing drizzle stage. Ugh!

It’s started to look like tonight’s storm will miss us completely. That’s ok by me! 🙂

That’s great news for you! You already got walloped with that snowstorm a few weeks ago. It would be okay by me too. I keep getting up to look out the front door to see if any snow is there, but so far it’s just ice … now it’s dark, so I’ll wait until tomorrow morning.

Lovely, sunny, and warm images, Linda on this Cold -2 f morning!

I’m trying to brighten everyone’s outlook Terri as so many of us are dealing with this wintry blast or rainy conditions. We’re not as low as you, but we have freezing rain right now, morphing into 3-6 (maybe 8 inches of snow overnight).

Please stay safe! We ran errands in town today (“town” is a 30 minute drive), to get ahead of the snow returning Thursday. It’s a mess when snow falls over ice.

You were smart doing that “run” before the snowstorm. I finally got out for a walk late yesterday as we’ve had so much ice since my last walk on 02/02. It was 33 degrees, so I took the car for a run and went to the Park. We have huge potholes as well; the car and I will likely hunker down for another week as we now have more snow coming on Saturday.

Several others have already weighed in and we’re all in agreement: no matter where we live, your photos are a colorful counter to what we’re seeing outdoors today.

Thank you Dave. The weather is pretty ugly in most parts of the U.S. right now. We have freezing rain right now, the third time in a week. It is going to morph into 3-8 inches of snow … for us here in SE Michigan, likely 3-6 inches, depending on how long this freezing rain lasts. More snow on Saturday – Winter with no end in sight. The Woodchuck lied!

Yes, I am sure that bee was thinking just that Ann Marie as I hovered over it as it went from flower to flower. 🙂 I knew there would a time in Winter, when some roses and a bee would bee nice to see.

What beautiful flowers, Linda. The roses are my favorite. I miss both the flowers and the buzzing bees in the winter.

Like you, I miss them too Rebecca. I thought another post with Summery flowers and bees would be nice since so many people are dealing with bad weather now. They are from Emily Frank Garden as was the rosy red Hibiscus in Sunday’s post.

Thank you Raj – I thought I’d give everyone a few summery images as so many people are dealing with cold/snow/ice and some with torrential rain. I am glad you like the photos.

Thanks Ally! Something to remind all of us that Summer, with its beautiful flowers and bees will be back, though it seems hard to believe looking outside today.

How lovely to see these beautiful flowers and bees! 😍 We got a ton of snow overnight, and more expected on the weekend. 😝

Thanks Debbie! I think we all need a shot of Summer with flowers and bees to remind us that better days are ahead once we dispense with all this snow/ice. At least this half-foot or more of snow for this weekend comes over a few days and not just one snow event like yesterday … if there is a silver lining at all. But once again our snow will come with freezing rain. Hang in there!

We need that countdown calendar on our respective blogs – as of 02/14/25 at 9:45 p.m., it is: 33 days, 2 hours,14 minutes. But calendar Spring doesn’t mean anything as you well know – we sometimes get snow in April.

Refreshing pictures to remind us of warmer times! 😊 After two days of shoveling, i needed this! Winter is often barren of a lot of the life activities and blossoming… though snowflakes can sometimes be pretty.

Tom, it seems like Summer was so long ago and too far away right now, although the days are getting longer. I could get outside earlier to walk but there is so much ice. I’ve hardly walked this year – too dangerous. I’m glad you liked the pictures. I’m not looking forward to this weekend’s multiple snow/ice events. This is crazy. We only got four inches of snow from Wednesday due to the sleet that came with it. Do you capture snowflakes with your macro lens?

Yes and that day I complained about how hot and humid it was at Emily Frank Gardens. This bee in the flowers is a reminder that things will be colorful and beautiful again this year, though it is hard to believe that right now!
