BADGES

He looks happy!

I thought he looked happy too and I even thought he might break out into song, but nope. Those yellow flowers almost hid him – good thing I saw him fly into them.

The sparrow found a perfect spot to watch the world. 👍🏽

Yes, wasn’t he smart to do that? Almost hidden. Good thing I saw him escape me by flying into those flowers. 🙂

Maybe he thought it’d make a prettier picture for you from there. 😉

He was very cooperative Pepper – I was sure I missed that shot as he dove into the plant, then turned around. I did have a couple of shots of just the flowers. 🙂

So, how does zero birds in the hand measure up to only 1 in the bush?

I explained that saying to him, then asked him to perch, not poop, on my finger for a better picture, but he respectfully declined. 🙂

Smart Bird………………………………….He’s meditating in a calm beautiful environment!

He sure is Ann Marie. He flew into that plant when he saw me and he thought I couldn’t see him. 🙂 That photo was taken at the Taylor Garden Club’s Volunteer Garden by the old log cabin.

Thank you Susan! This cutie pie flew into the flowers to escape me and evidently thought I couldn’t see him! 🙂

A perfect hiding and resting spot.

I was happy to find this Sparrow in the plant – it flew away when it saw me and figured I didn’t see it. Just as I snapped the photo, it was off again, so I was pleasantly surprised to see it when I had the image on the computer screen.

That’s a great choice. So pretty.

Thank you Kirstin! I was lucky this sparrow seemed to be keen on posing for me, even though it initially flew away when it saw me.

What a great candid shot! 🙂 I love how you always capture the facial expressions so well.

Thank you Debbie! This was lucky for me because it initially bolted and flew into the tree to evade me. I guess it didn’t realize I could still see it!

Such a beautiful capture! Great photography, Linda! This one would win a blue ribbon at the fair.

Thank you Tom – your comment made my day! (Especially after a very long day of severe weather here in my area.) This was such a sweet little Sparrow. It saw me and dove into this Cup Plant thinking I couldn’t see it there. 🙂

It’s too hot out there to be roaming around taking pictures of nature. We are trapped indoors. But i have so many critters in the garage that i feel like i am in nature.

Yes it is Tom and you are lucky to get your “nature fix” by simply walking to the garage. I have to tell you that the appeal for nature walks has lost its appeal between the threats of bites from ticks, now two types of mosquitos with EEE and West Nile virus detected, plus this issue with toxic algae if you breathe it makes me think no walks until October and cooler weather. There is likely a lot of storm damage in big parks as well. This storm was pretty bad. I’ve seen storm damage pics two blocks from my house and I am lucky indeed. I lost power, lost internet and have spotty internet now, but no damage thankfully – hope you are unscathed as well.

Thank you Ruth! I was so surprised I actually got a picture of it. This little bird bolted when it saw me and went into the plant, figuring it eluded me, but then a few seconds later we were staring at each other, eye-to-eye. 🙂

what a cutie surprise to find! You have sharp eyes and the animals know to stick around a few seconds more for you to take their pics.

I thought it was such a cute Sparrow too Esther, kind of tucked inside this pretty Cup Plant. Perfect for me to take its picture and I’m pretty sure it thought it was doing a good job hiding from me. 🙂

I’m having a hard time finding the url to the picture link (being tech savvy is not my strong suit!) but I did want to comment that the bird you captured is so beautiful. My mom recently got the kids window stickers of many different birds, and every time we see one we can add it to the window!

Hi Mackenzie – I will look back at our recent comments and try and figure it out. I do remember I sent a link or a picture. This bird really surprised me as it was startled and flew into this plant to hide from me, then looked right out at me. I guess it thought I couldn’t see it – maybe it was a baby? I was happy I got the shot when I saw it on the screen. I remember those bird stickers and I thought that was a very cute idea – a great way to learn about birds. I know some people load birdsong apps on their phones. Then, if they hear a song in the woods, the app identifies the bird. I’m not tech savvy about phones at all.
