About Linda Schaub
This is my first blog and I enjoy writing each and every post immensely. I started a walking regimen in 2011 and decided to create a blog as a means of memorializing the people, places and things I see on my daily walks. I have always enjoyed people watching, and so my blog is peppered with folks I meet, or reflections of characters I have known through the years. Often something piques my interest, or evokes a pleasant memory from my memory bank, so this becomes a “slice o’ life” blog post that day. I respect and appreciate nature and my interaction with Mother Nature’s gifts is also a common theme. Sometimes the most-ordinary items become fodder for points to ponder over and touch upon. My career has been in the legal field and I have been a legal secretary for four decades, primarily working in downtown Detroit, and now working from my home. I graduated from Wayne State University with a degree in print journalism in 1978, though I’ve never worked in that field. I like to think this blog is the writer in me finally emerging!! Walking and writing have met and shaken hands and the creative juices are flowing once again in Walkin’, Writin’, Wit & Whimsy – hope you think so too. - Linda Schaub
They look like they are standing on a stage singing to the audience. I love the video, he covered all sorts of animals and his song was very good. 🙂

They really look like a choir!

Yes, they look like they are performing and the audience is just out of the picture. Love, light and glitter back at you Ellie. 🙂

I thought they looked they were singing to the audience too Sandra. They made me laugh when I saw their beaks open and I knew it would be a funny shot, and I was lucky to get several funny shots that morning. I liked the video too. It made the rounds about a month ago as an animated video with that same song and I meant to keep it, but deleted it by accident, so I went to YouTube and got this video instead. I like it better as it has real animals and birds. 🙂

Beautiful pictures- good lighting and natural colours- all things bright and beautiful, all creatures great and small, all things wise and wonderful, the Lord God made them all.
Through your posts I know you are ok, and am very thankful.

Hi Susie – glad you liked the pictures. I think seeing an animal or bird with a smile on its face is worthy of a human smile too. I am okay on my side of the world, hope you are okay as well. Thank you for thinking of me. We have a few rainy days here, but the weekend will be better (or so they say).

Cute pictures and song! I can tell from the view that you had a backstage pass!

Thanks Joni – I had those pictures from a few months ago and was trying to think of a way to use them for Wordless Wednesday. I saw that same video which was animated about a month ago. It dawned on me that would be a fun pairing, but I deleted it by accident and thought I’d look on YouTube to find it. I like this version much better and it’s a catchy tune!
You’re right, I was standing about 15 feet away from them. The cement landing where they are standing is where the heron goes and the pathway is up higher so it’s a great vantage point. The Creek is low – that’s why it never floods the pathway, like at the bigger shoreline parks.

That song was funny! And the ducks! Most amusing!

I thought it was funny too Anne and the ducks look like they are singing their hearts out and one duck is plugging his ears (if ducks have ears). 🙂 I like it better than the animated version and in case you are interested to try it on the piano, they have the words and music here:

I’ll have to remember to look at this on the computer.

I thought it would be fun for you to try on the piano – they have the words, so John and David can sing along.

Thanks Rebecca – I agree. I’ve come home with other duck photos where they have opened their beaks and it looks like they are singing or smiling. In these pictures, they were not quacking or making a noise, just had their beaks open. Glad I gave you a smile. 🙂

Beautiful photos, Linda 🙂 I miss the ducks, we would try and visit them a few times a month but with the lockdown we can’t go visit any more 😦
I LOVED the YouTube video, it was lovely and totally made me smile 🙂

Glad you liked the photos Ari. I have had them a few months, and they make me smile as they look like they are singing or laughing. 🙂 This video was perfect to match up with them. I really liked it too. There is a version of the video by Celtic Thunder. No animal pics, but it is lively. Celtic Thunder sells out when they come to Detroit.

Glad to give you a smile Ally. These ducks really looked like they were singing and I figured it would pair nicely with the video. I hope the duck sticking his foot in his ear was believable for tuning the others out. 🙂

Linda your photos are stunning, so colorful and I can almost hear them. Great video too, just what the world needs right now.

Thanks Kim – I felt lucky to get several shots of them looking like they were singing or smiling – whenever ducks open their mouths, it always looks they are happy. 🙂 I liked that video – there are several versions of it, but that is my favorite one as it has the real animals in it. It will have you tapping your foot and give you an ear worm for sure.

I can just hear those quackers singing off-key. Thanks for the “All God’s Critters” video. It did give me a smile!

I am glad you liked the ducks … they are so bright and colorful and made me smile with their mouths open. I wonder if it is the oddball weather Ann Marie. I had looked for nests all along the shoreline and saw no geese or ducks on a nest and nothing seems normal these days, including the weather!
