BADGES
He IS a handsome fellow. Gotta do the spring cleaning before he finds a mate!

Yes he is handsome Laurie – he was having a lengthy ritual to get spiffed up for a potential lady friend. It’s Springtime, so he is on the prowl. 🙂

Fantastic pictures, Linda! So many feathers to give attention to but he’s looking good for all the effort. 🙂

Thanks Barbara! It always amazes me with Seagulls – they look so sleek and, while not petite, compact I guess would be the word, once they start preening and fan out the tail feathers or stretch out a wing, or take flight, my goodness – you have doubled the size of that bird. A fine-looking bird after all that primping!

I would date him if I was a gull!

I think you have good taste Kate – he cleans up nicely doesn’t he? 🙂

The first photo is a keeper, Linda. If he was slightly raised on that one foot I’d have labeled him a “Gullerina”.

Thank you Dave! I like that “Gullerina” idea. He certainly impressed me doing all that spiffing up on one leg.

I do enjoy watching seagulls, I think they are quite entertaining.

Me too Susan. This was quite the ritual here – a head to webbed foot preen and one-legged for all of it!

Clean and handsome, Linda! What great shots! I bet the gulls (gals) are lined up 😉

I think so too Terri – it was quite a primping session that he had and on one leg no less. 🙂

It always amazes me how long a bird can stand and preen. A nice set of photos, Linda.

Yes, plus they sleep on one leg with their head tucked under their wing. We had parakeets and canaries through the years and that always fascinated me about birds. Glad you liked the photos Rebecca. It was quite a ritual this Seagull was going through to clean its feathers.

Perfect timing to get these preening shots!

Yes, that’s for sure Esther. I got there at the beginning of the preening session. The Seagull was really into the primping and preening ritual and didn’t flinch at all while I was clicking off shots.

Glad you liked it Shelley. I thought the preening ritual was never going to end. This guy was intent on getting spiffed up!

Gulls are smart. Some people are too but not many. 😉

Yes gulls are smart Tom, like all birds and you would know since you have had such luck with your parrots through the years, now with T-rex. I guess the jury is out on some people though. 🙂

Thank you Barbara. I am enjoying doing these Wordless Wednesday posts as it’s a chance to use the photos which are sometimes unusual, instead of just putting them inside an already very long post.
