BADGES

I love daisies! So simple but beautiful! Nice you found a “matching” butterfly!

Me too Kate – daisies are always perky looking. Yes, that was a pretty lucky find getting a “matching” butterfly and it stuck around for a while too!

What a pretty butterfly to celebrate Midsummer! It even looks Scandinavian. 🙂 These are lovely pictures, Linda! Lucky you — I’ve seen cabbage whites flitting about but they never stay still long enough to get a picture. And the little white flowers make for a perfect backdrop. Happy Summer Solstice, my friend! 🌼

Thank you Barbara – glad you liked these pictures. That butterfly stayed there for the longest time in the last picture and it is difficult to tell, but there were two butterflies side by side, which I didn’t notice at the time, but I saw two antennae on the screen! Barely noticeable! Your comment about the butterfly looking Scandinavian gave me something to think about. It is forty years ago today I was in Denmark celebrating Midsummer Night Eve (I think it was Eve, may have been the actual Summer Solstice). Our tour group visited Tivoli Gardens across the street from our hotel, so when we returned to the hotel, the fireworks went off long into the night and I had a perfect view of them from my hotel room. Happy Summer Solstice back to you, my dear friend!

Thank you Terry – same to you! Those Cabbage Whites are so delicate and almost translucent in the sun. I was happy to get butterflies that alighted on the flowers and stayed put for a while!

Thank you Wayne! I hope you are right for both of us. We have a few days of rain/storms (Friday thru Sunday), then a long stretch of sunny, dry days again. Hope you get down to the beach for some sunset pics on this longest day of the year.

Very pretty Linda! I asked to take a stem of three white daisies from my dining table last night and there they are sitting very pretty next to my tv. Fun both of us were thinking about white daisies. ☀️Happy Summer to you!

Those daisies will brighten your room for a long time TD … I miss having daisies in the backyard. I lost all mine and the other perennials and butterfly bushes during that first long Polar Vortex in the Winter of 2013-2014. These are such pretty and delicate butterflies. Happy Summer to you as well! ☀️ (I’ll borrow your sun emoji.)

Thank you Rebecca! Those Cabbage Whites are so dainty looking when they alight on the flowers. I didn’t realize it was Pollinators Week or I would have mentioned that in my heading too.

Great Cabbage shots, Linda! Keep taking pictures of them… with all of the pollution, RoundUp, and pollution, they are all dwindling in numbers. 😥

Thanks Tom! They are so delicate and almost transparent unlike the bigger butterflies. Sadly you are correct – RoundUp is destroying not only are pollinators, but human lives as well.

Me too Susan – those Cabbage Whites are so dainty and almost transparent as they flit around. It was National Pollinator’s Week last week, a fact I didn’t know until after I posted, so that tag would have been perfect for this post.

I had never heard of cabbage whites before. And I am trying to remember if “Please don’t eat the daisys” was a movie I have seen.

They are very small butterflies JP – they are so delicate and almost translucent and blend right in with flowers so they are not all that noticeable. I saw that movie with my parents when I was young and probably at home. We only had one TV set at the time, so except for some cartoons, “the kid” had to watch what her parents watched.

Yes, they are so tiny compared to the bigger and more colorful butterflies. Do you have them in California Esther?

I haven’t seen one like this near me. I’ll have to keep an eye out for it.
