Next stop: Bunnyville.

I was a dumb bunny (who me??)

And I know you are all ears to find out why!

Well, here’s my little tail, er … tale.

I went down the proverbial rabbit hole to prepare this post.

I thought it would be fun to show you the many Hunny Bunnies in my life.

I figured I would just search using the word “bunny” and barring any “dust bunnies” clogging up my digital files, I’d spit out a dozen or so images.

Easy-peasy, right?

So, I went into this endeavor all bright-eyed and cotton-tailed.

Whew! But it was a rabbit hole from where I never emerged for hours!

And, when I did emerge, oh my goodness – I was ready for a nap!

I got gobsmacked by gobs of bunny pics lurking on my laptop.

I watched the images loading slowly onto the screen – yikes!

They began multiplying … like rabbits!

While scrolling up and down, soon I was cross-eyed from peering at all of them.

There were bunnies posing so perfectly, they could have been cast in chocolate.

And some cute baby bunnies who were so very shy.

Wow – I was overwhelmed by all these bunnies for my blog post!

It was almost like someone gave me a lucky you-know-what foot. (Ewww!)

But, I gotta tell ya, when I was knee deep in this project, with a gazillion bunny pics to hop through …

… I truly was ready to slap myself up the side of the face!

And you all thought I was only enamored by squirrels!

I hope you enjoyed this Easter parade of my favorite bunny photos because who doesn’t like those wiggling ears and twitching noses?

Just because they’re not chocolate doesn’t mean they’re not sweet, right?

A bounty of bunnies brings bliss to my day – yours too I hope.

Meanwhile, I am off to go tripping along the rustic trail; I will be sure to wear some flowers in my hare, er … hair.

Enjoy your Easter and please click here for a greeting filled with even more bunnies.

About Linda Schaub

This is my first blog and I enjoy writing each and every post immensely. I started a walking regimen in 2011 and decided to create a blog as a means of memorializing the people, places and things I see on my daily walks. I have always enjoyed people watching, and so my blog is peppered with folks I meet, or reflections of characters I have known through the years. Often something piques my interest, or evokes a pleasant memory from my memory bank, so this becomes a “slice o’ life” blog post that day. I respect and appreciate nature and my interaction with Mother Nature’s gifts is also a common theme. Sometimes the most-ordinary items become fodder for points to ponder over and touch upon. My career has been in the legal field and I have been a legal secretary for four decades, primarily working in downtown Detroit, and now working from my home. I graduated from Wayne State University with a degree in print journalism in 1978, though I’ve never worked in that field. I like to think this blog is the writer in me finally emerging!! Walking and writing have met and shaken hands and the creative juices are flowing once again in Walkin’, Writin’, Wit & Whimsy – hope you think so too. - Linda Schaub

Hi Jeanine – I was hoping you would see this post, especially my alter ego Ms. Bunny! I will have a post coming up in the next several weeks about a children’s mural that takes up the width of a playground. Very cool mural images – you will love it, especially the gnomes. I’m still picking thru my Summer 2022 pics. Happy Easter!

Yes, the best of both worlds Jeanine! It will be before the end of April. I have to take the pics off the card. I am behind in sorting through photos from last Summer, but went out yesterday and took more pictures. I liked the concept of a blank wall and bring your creativity and everybody paints, no need to be an artist to work on the mural. I thought the bunny in yesterday’s post was very good.

Glad you had a hopping good time reading this post Shelley. I had a lot of fun putting it together! Hmm – what do I do with the rest of the bunny photos I found, some furry, some otherwise? I will put them to good use, so stay tuned. 🙂 Happy Spring and Happy Easter back at you dear blogging buddy! P.S. – I’m going to steal some bunnies from you. 🐰🐇🐰🐇🐰🐇🐰🐇

Bunnies will be everywhere at the Park once the dandelions and clover come out. They will sit there munching contentedly and won’t move like they usually do – perhaps that is the answer to getting the bunnies to stop chewing on your flowers – let them eat dandelions. I guess it only works for a while though. There is a bunny next door which is huge and must live under my neighbor’s deck. It gets spooked easily and takes off at the speed of sound.

        Liked by 1 person

      • Yes, they will be everywhere. Yes, they eat dandelions. We didn’t have problems with dandelions last year because the rabbits and ground squirrels kept them mowed down.
        A huge bunny = 🐇🐇🐇🐇🐇🐇🐇🐇🐇😂

Ha ha – well no sea of yellow dandelions for you then Shelley. I used to take out each dandelion with a paring knife to ensure it didn’t grow back. That was a job for younger legs. 🙂

        Liked by 1 person

      • It’ll be interesting to see if we have many or not. I remember a special yard tool that my mom would have me use to pull out each dandelion like that. I agree…a job for younger legs and someone shorter to the ground. 🤣

      • Linda Schaub says:

That is funny you say that about the tool as I know exactly what you mean. Mine has a pointed bottom and a yellow plastic handle and works well. It was a joke between my mom and me that after my father left, it was up to me to do all the yardwork. So we were at the nursery and she bought me that weed gizmo. Then she was listening to the gardening show and she heard of a gizmo called a “Weed Hound” and she said you’ll be old and can’t haunch down (this is true now – I cannot do that and bought yoga CD and flash cards … not tried them yet). So she bought me this “digger” on a long stick and it works better. Every year for Father’s Day I got a new yard tool, mostly electric hedge trimmers, edger – he liked to use the manual tools. I even did a post about it.

        Liked by 1 person

      • That’s awesome you have all those tools.
You’re kind of set to do gardening again when you retire, right? 🤔😉 Ooo, please share the link to that post…I don’t remember reading that one!

Well I think I will garden out front and the sides of the house, but the jury is still out on what will happen in the back yard. I may just put bushes there where the old bushes burned … every day I look for a sign of life but none so far.

      • That sounds like a good plan. Aw, so sad. Do the stumps need to be removed?

        Liked by 1 person

      • Linda Schaub says:

Yes and they will have to remove the cement blocks that were the shed floor. My father should have put in a rat wall, but only put cement blocks. That is likely why the shed went airborne and flew across the yard, though it was a big shed and made of metal – it fell apart and I had to find a scrapper to come in and cut it up and take it away. They were two seeds that grew up, like in the front yard and now the roots are coming up in my grass (in the front) – not good. I’m waiting to see what happens behind if they put a new fence up after the garage is built – I am guessing not.

Glad you liked it Shelley – I also did Diary of a Mad Gardener, something you can identify with but don’t feel you have to read it now – it is very long. We had nothing going on at the time so I worked outside in the garden five days in a row, massive whipping the yards into shape but I was not in shape. Just read it when you get a chance:

Yes, I was sore so I know how Mister feels. Once when I bought many bags of white marble and spent Memorial weekend spreading it and lava rock (which is not so bad as it is lighter) and my hands were like claws from lugging the bags and I felt like a Mack truck ran over me and I had Memorial Day week off for vacation. This was a long time ago. We had plans, going to Canada to visit a family member who was leaving for Vancouver. He wanted to take us around the City where he lived and I had to climb in the back seat of his car as he wanted to drive, so I left my car at his place. I couldn’t sit/stand/grab onto anything for three days. Nice vacation.

I actually wrote two posts about gardening … one was about laying mulch four days in a row (30 bags) and how I felt and then there was this one. Some day read it, no hurry, but I mention getting a new yard tool for Father’s Day every year. After my father left, I bought my mother a present for Father’s Day and got her a card as well, the premise being, we weren’t spending the money on my father who left and took all the money out of the bank and long-term funds, leaving my mom high and dry.

I had a lot of fun putting it together and still have bunny pics, some real bunnies, some “other bunnies” I didn’t get to use, so stay tuned. 🙂 That last pic is from a very cool mural in a local children’s park. I took photos of each segment. I just used the head and shoulders of this rabbit as it was so unique, but it is a full, sitting rabbit. Hoppy Easter back at you!

No, darn it – no chocolate bunnies Wayne. I had more bunny pics, furry and otherwise, but had to temper my enthusiasm for loading them all here in this post, but they will turn up, like the bunnies in the card, somewhere down the line. Well that sounds great Ruth – good food, treats and spending time with family. The weather was so beautiful this weekend … we need to savor it after our last six weeks of erratic weather. The WXYZ weather video reported the UP may get some snow Sunday – Dave Rexroth hinted “I’m not saying snow for us in the Tri-County area, but it will dip down pretty low and there will be precip. Guess the chicks will “vacation” at the farm and then go back to your house. 🙂

Glad you liked this post Rebecca. It was fun putting it together. Were your ears ringing yesterday? I was at Heritage Park which has the petting zoo on its grounds and once again the guinea hens were running around Heritage Park, but not all four of them together this time. I got a couple of photos of them to use in a post. I was chatting with a couple of nice people who regularly walk their dogs here and mentioned your post and my earlier sighting – they said “oh, they’re not escapees – they are roaming around all the time.” It’s not hard for them to just bend under the fence and take off. 🙂

Yes, the helper at the petting farm didn’t have to come and shake their grain bag at them this time. 🙂 I took a lot of photos, but they were on the mov and running here and there … but I have two photos to use which were decent and will mention them in the post for sure.

Thank you Dan – I had a lot of fun putting this past together. I see a lot of bunnies too, in the backyard, the neighborhood and at the park where I walk every day. Once the clover is out, the bunnies don’t even move when you walk by them as they are feasting on it. And, once the dandelions are out, the bunnies and goslings are often munching dandelions in the same area.

Glad you liked this post Barbara. I knew I had a ton of bunny pics and I thought I’d feature bunnies instead of squirrels for a change and it was a lot of fun to put together. The artwork is actually a full-sized sitting rabbit on a mural at a children’s park which I’m going to be writing about in a couple of weeks when I return to July 2022 adventures (where I left off). This park has a mural and features designs by anyone who wanted to come and pick up a paintbrush that day – isn’t that a fun idea?

      • That is a fun idea. I bet they wound up with quite an outdoor art gallery!

I was really impressed Barbara. I took photos of each area of the wall and all the paintings look great to me. A fellow blogger is a young woman who lives in Berlin and she often goes into the city to photograph murals. Most of them are murals that are painted on entire sides of buildings, from first floor to top floor. They are a little different but none of them are ads … all just creativity. So I told Jeanine I was going to feature this mural on an upcoming post – she also likes gnomes and there are gnomes and a little gnome house as well. 🙂
