BADGES
For a second there, I thought he had no legs 😆

I know, it sure looks like that doesn’t it? I probably should have put that picture in between, the other two. 🙂

Na it was fun!! I got excited that he actually did have legs 😁

Yes, they love tucking their leg in – probably so we will take their picture(s)! 🙂

I laughed when I figured out where your title came from. I was concentrating on the bird and missed the clue.

OK…I must be tired. I don’t get it! Can you explain?

I think Anne was the only one who noticed, so it’s not you Laurie! People probably thought “is Linda whining about her goal so early in the year?” There is some graffiti on the brick pillar under where the seagull is standing. It says “Ali” so I think everyone is just noticing the gull, mostly as it’s standing on one leg, but failed to see the graffiti. (The word “graffiti” confounds me as I have a mental block how to spell it and thank goodness for spellcheck.)

I wonder how many people connected that Anne? I saw that graffiti and decided it would make a fun post. Especially seeing the gull with only one leg. Then I had to find a Muhammad Ali quote which kind of worked.

Ohhhh…thanks for the explanation, Linda. I need to pay more attention to detail! 🙂

You weren’t the only one Laurie. I should have pointed it out in a tag or in the title. 🙂

Great shots of this bird. I once put a seagull standing on one leg in a post. In her comment one lady had so much sympathy for the bird that lost one of its legs.

Thanks Peggy. It is pretty amazing how seagulls tuck the entire leg and foot (and their webbed feet are so wide) into their feathers and you can’t see them, so I can see the lady feeling badly for the bird losing one of its legs. I follow the Michigan Duck Rescue & Sanctuary on Facebook. A group of volunteers go out and rescue waterfowl all over the state. Yesterday they wrote about a goose that got fishing wire wrapped around both feet and it had already lost one foot but they were able to save the other foot. No licensed rehabbers would take the goose due to the avian flu.

Amazing how people take care of injured wildlife.

Yes, I follow Nottingham Nature Center on Facebook. It is not near me, but Cheryl rehabs a lot of animals at her place, some deer as well. There was a story on the news how a deer was spotted near the Center over the last few weeks and it had a plastic pumpkin kids use for collecting candy stuck on its head/snout up to its eyes. It had not eaten in all that time and volunteers managed to get a net over the deer and remove the deer which bolted and took off – they named it “Lucky”.

Yoga pose! Wonder what goals he has planned for his day…

Yes, so skilled at standing on one leg and not toppling over. 🙂

I wish I could stand on on leg. I’d be flat on my face!

Me too – he does it without holding onto the back of the chair, something I need!

Cute photos, I like seagulls and find them fascinating but I think I’m one of the few lol

Thank you Susan – I like them too and they are great for getting a pose as they are patient and allow you to get pretty close before they finally bolt and screech at you for invading their space. 🙂

Frist one is standing on one leg. I hope he advised to do himself.
So beautiful photography.

Glad you liked the photos rajkkhoja. Those seagulls often stand like that and never topple over into the water.

Yes Jessica and they never topple over, even on a windy day.

Cute, Linda! What is it about most birds that they can roost/sleep on one leg? I know I can barely stand on one without staggering back to two!

Thanks Terri – yes, a perfect one-legged stance until I took the picture and the shutter made him/her lower its foot then. I need a chair if I’m going to do that or I likewise stagger back to two feet!

Glad you liked it Joni – so you noticed the “Ali” graffiti then? I’m guessing most everyone just saw the seagull doing yoga.

You were not the only one who didn’t see it Ally – I guess I should have put something in the headline or a tag, so people would notice it. All thy saw was the one-legged seagull, which miraculously had a second leg appear in the next two shots.

I notice Ali right away Linda. I accidentally click the picture and it blew up big! Lol

Good – glad you noticed it Diane … yes, the new way of doing pictures cuts the picture in Reader so you only saw his missing leg at first.
